Day trip - Drove down from bangalore. Most beautiful drive esp after hassan. Landscape felt like the south of france.. But not quite. It was like the warmth that you can feel in your own multicultural diverse country. 523 km round trip from bangalore, over 10 hours of total time for the trip and we still felt fresh on the return.

Amazing Indian civilization! - This is my 2nd time to visit Belur, Halebid and 1st time for Shravanabelagola. I don't remember much from my first visit to Belur and Halebid. Everything was blur... due to language. This time I have a private guide to explain the history and characteristics of the temples, carvings, cultures. I truly enjoyed the trip.

Shravanbangola, Belur,Halebid and Chikmagalur sightseeing: a 2 day program - We 2 friends had booked a private car that took us directly to Shravanbangola from Banguluru airport. One has to climb up 600 steps to reach the 57 feet monolith statue of Lord Bahubali. After seeing this marvelous place, we proceeded to Hassan and stayed the night there. The next day morning, we left Hassan and proceeded to see the beautiful temples of Belur and Halebid.....would recommend keeping a guide at both these places to understand the history and architecture of the temple. After the temple visits, we proceeded to Chikmagalur, which is a hill station as we had planned to stay the night at Chikmagalur. At Chikmagalur, we visited Mullayangiri peak ( tallest park of Karnataka) and Dabdabe falls (also known as buttermilk falls). Next day morning, we left Chikmagalur to reach Banguluru. Found all the 4 places worth visiting.

Day trip to Belur Halebid - Took a day trip to Belur and Halebid. Started around 7:00 am from vijay nagar Bangalore. Halted in Swati's for breakfast .. It was delicious.. Then visited the old temples and big Nandi's of the temple.. Did not hire any guide as we had wifi to search the history Had lunch at Krishna's in Halebid and last stop was Shravana Belagola.. It requires climbing.. The only thing I would do different is to go first to the Shravana Belagola first thing in the morning as it is hard to climb after lunch.

Deep dive into the authentic India - We've made this private tour in three this July and enjoyed it a lot. Driver arrived to out hotel almost an hour advance of the departure time. Car was clean and comfortable, AC was working. We've visited three planed temples, two of them with a guide. During the whole trip driver was finding a good places to make a stops for bathroom and lunch. The only thing we didn't quite enjoy - the real trip duration was 15h instead of 10h planned. Stops and dinner might took us together additional 2h top, but would be good to understand in advance amount of time trip might take. Highly recommend this tour if you're interested in exploring India.
