Jose was very nice and... - Jose was very nice and gave us a lot of information about the Mayas and Belize. We enjoyed the tour and the delicious lunch that was included.

This private tour was excellent and exactly what we wanted. - "Mr White" (Nelson Blanco) was an excellent tour guide. The private tour was absolutely the right thing for our group as one couple has mobility issues- and so they need extra time and opportunities to rest when walking distances. He worked with us to get us back to our ship in time and we still had a little time to browse the local crafts for sale at the ruins site. Nelson was also very knowledgeable about the history of the ruins and of the Mayan peoples of the area. During our drive, he summarized much for us about modern culture and life in Belize, also answering may questions with ease and professionalism.

Best excursion we’ve ever had. - I can’t recommend José enough. My mom was on a birthday cruise 2 years after the passing of her husband. José took care of my mom as if she was his own mother. She’s afraid of heights and José made her feel so comfortable she was able to climb to the top of the Sun God Temple … the highest point in the park!!!!! I hadn’t seen her smile this much in forever. It was the highlight of our cruise. José kept in communication with us from the very beginning and was early for our pickup from the cruise terminal. Very attentive, extremely informative and we felt at ease the entire tour. He adapted our schedule to allow for us to head back early to the port for another commitment. We had a great time and the sole reason we are considering coming back to Belize for either another cruise or even for a longer time is because of our confidence in knowing he can make our stay a fun and memorable one. Ask for Jose! - Our driver guide, Jose, made the trip! Very informative and so friendly. The ride is quite bumpy but just hold on tight and try not to look at oncoming traffic. We chose to skip the lunch because our travel partners aren’t fans of rice and beans. Definitely ask for Jose!

Relaxing Tour - Jose was an excellent tour guy. I was satisfied with this tour and thought overall it was worth the price. The lunch was at a small restaurant. The quality and portion size were very good. I enjoyed it. The runs at Altun Ha were nice. Maybe not as grand as I imagined but it was nice to see. The driving tour of Belize City was nice. I felt we had a good overall picture of the city. It was a nice way to spend 3 - 4 hours.

San Pedro - I stayed in San pedro for four nights and five days at the Hidden Boutique Hotel. I had a great stay and enjoyed my time just far from downtown and a lot of dark roads.

Overall, a fun day - Jose was very knowledgeable about the ruins and the city, and the changes the country has made to improve the lives of its people. the 2 things that prevented a "5 star" rating - is his Mario Andretti style of driving over the windy road 14 miles from Altun Ha and an inappropriate comment he made concerning his second wife. The lunch was very good, and the chicken was excellent. he nicely added in the stop at the rum factory, where we could also taste the cashew wine.

Not great. - Altun Hun is interesting, although not a must-see. The most unusual feature is that you’re allowed to climb to the top of the pyramid and look over the whole site which was fun. Unfortunately, our guide, Jose, from Jose Tours was poor. First, his car was in bad condition and had a shattered windshield and no seatbelts in the back. He had to be asked to stop having long conversations on his cell phone while driving. And except when asked specific questions he offered little information, and most of it unhelpful, like pointing out how nicely the grass was mowed! He also talked a lot about his own family issues and financial problems.

Did not get what we paid for. - We paid extra for what was supposed to be a private tour for the 2 of us. It turned out to be 3 separate couples crammed into a minivan and we had to wait almost an hour for the third couple to arrive even though they were on the same ship that we were on.

Avoid this - Provider never showed up and we are still fighting about the refund with viator... Avoid at all cost
