Authentic Spanish olive oil and civil war history experience - When I visited the olive oil press, they were in the middle of the harvest so I was able to see the collection and pressing of the olives first hand. I also had the pleasure of seeing the oldest olive tree in the region on a beautiful, secluded farm. However, the highlight of the trip was the old Belchite town. If you are interested in the history of the Spanish Civil War, this is something you need to see. Jorge, my tour guide, was excellent - he answered my (many) questions about the history of Spain and its current affairs. Highly recommended. Thank you!

One of our favorite tours while in Spain - Having now completed tours and activities in both Madrid and Barcelona, this was the surprise tour that far exceeded our expectations. We set up this tour with an interest in seeing what the olive oil process is like. That part of the tour was fascinating! We got to walk amongst the olive trees, go through the production facility, and taste and buy some delicious oils! Following the olive oil tour, we went to the ruins of Belchite. Not being from Spain, we were not aware of the historic significance of Belchite. The tour of the ruins from Spanish Civil War was incredible and touching. Jorge taught us so much during the stroll through old Belchite. We purposefully stopped in Zaragoza on our way from Madrid to Barcelona to see the Aragon region and ended up having one of our favorite tours while in Spain. While in Zaragoza, this tour is highly recommended.

Really enjoyed - TLDR version: highly recommend My partner and I don’t often do tours but seeing we didn’t have a car and are big olive oil fans we decided to take the plunge. Luckily Jorge is such a genuine person and a brilliant guide any fear the tour would be a bit overdone faded immediately. The olive press tour was great, not some Disneyland type thing. I can imagine it’s quite a lively affair during the harvest (more winter). Being out of season we got a commentated tour of the machinery and process along with a video of the factory in action at the end (English subs). The oil at the end was obviously delicious. The highlight of the tour however was our trip to Belchite. Totally unexpected as it wasn’t even on our radar but is an incredibly interesting if a little sad place. Once you stepped through the gates to the old city it felt like you were walking back in time.

History Comes to Life - Jorge is a wonderful guide. Excellent knowledge of Zarrahoza and surrounding area as well as other regions. He is a foody. Arranged for us to enjoy the best tapas we've had to date in Zarragoza and a list of food references for Sam Sebastian. The tour provided historical insight we would not have gained otherwise. My appreciation of the Spanish Civil War came through the writing of people like Hemingway and Neruda. The local tour guide at Belchite gave an impassioned explanation of the towns destruction, twice no less, which Jorge passed on to us in English. The olive tree that is hundreds of years old is a site to see. The press operations were interesting and contributing greatly to my appreciation of the region. I highly recommend the tour to everyone.

Don't forget to taste the Aragonese Olive Oil - We joined the Olive Oil and Belchite Tour in October 2019. The guide picked us up in his very comfortable car at our Hotel and drove us to Belchite .On the way we had a short stroll through an Olive grove to see a 300 year old Olive tree ,plus a historic hilltop Monastery before arriving at Belchite . We took a tour of a local Olive Factory and then went on a guided tour of old Town of Belchite which was severely damage during the Spanish Civil War . All of the components of this half day tour were very interesting and worthwhile but I have to say the Tour is not that well set up for English Speakers . The guided Tour of the Olive Oil Factory is conducted in Spanish ( translated by Our Tour guide) and the Tour of Belchite is conducted in Spanish also . There are English audio guides available but if these get out of sequence you miss a lot of the information. I think this important tour could be improved a lot by the provision of a printed handout or email which provides good quality information in English of the main points of the Tour . This comment is intended to be constructive and I hope it will be useful

Belchite made accessible - This is a good but not inexpensive way to see Belchite. Jorge provides very comfortable transport, door-to-door service and good background and can tailor the tour to the interests of the group. The olive oil production visit is interesting and the owner who leads it is very knowledgeable. Belchite is a stark reminder of the horrors of war -particularly civil war- and it was good to have Jorge’s additional translation on top of the English audio guide. Certainly others who arrived without a guide missed a lot.
