Additional Information

We commence our journey heading south from Jerusalem, traversing the Judean Hills. Along the way, we cross the Inn of the Good Samaritan and stop briefly at the sea level signboard. Our initial halt is at Masada, a ‘mesa’ or plateau-like rock formation that rises 450m above the desert flatlands. We ride a cable car to reach the summit of Masada, which offers spectacular views of the Dead Sea.

Owing to the dry weather and isolated position, the buildings are remarkably preserved. Approximately a century later, during the First Jewish–Roman War (66–73 CE), Jewish zealots sought sanctuary on Masada. They resisted the Romans for numerous months until the Romans successfully erected a dirt ramp to climb the daunting cliffs.

Next, we move closer to the Dead Sea, bypassing Ein Gedi and Qumran, the location of the Dead Sea Scroll finding. Provided we have ample time, we may pause for a break at the Dead Sea Mineral Cosmetic manufacturing site. Our tour concludes at the Dead Sea, where you have the opportunity to recline on the beach and rejuvenate.
