Additional Information

Svaneti is undeniably one of Georgia’s most picturesque regions and encapsulates what the country has to offer international visitors. Most of the mesmerizing images of ancient stone settlements, verdant valleys, and snow-dusted mountains were captured here.

Mestia, located 1,500 meters above sea level, serves as the hub for Upper (Zemo) Svaneti. It’s the starting spot for numerous journeys across the region, from hiking to glaciers at Ushba’s foot from Mestia’s center to horseback rides to alpine pastures, immersing oneself in the Svan culture, and even skiing during the winter.

Georgia boasts some beautiful lakes, and Mestia is near one such gem. Nestled at the foot of Mount Ushba, Koruldi Lake sits 2,200-meters above sea level, offering spectacular vistas of the nearby landscape. The trail to the lake is excellently indicated and requires about four hours of hiking.
