Additional Information

Panticosa Spa is a glacial basin nestled in the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees, encircled by towering granite peaks that rise over 3000 meters. You’ll find 4 lakes within an hour’s hike, 11 within two, and roughly 80 within only four hours!

The Spa is also home to an array of trees, shrubs, flowers, and mushrooms that flourish along its trails.

I invite you to explore some of its lesser-known regions boasting great diversity, where we will discover and identify those species that are suitable for healing or consumption. It promises to be a captivating and enjoyable journey, with no shortage of things to see and do.

There is a particular trail. It weaves through a forest of maples, Scottish pines, and black pines, leading to open fields and grasslands. We then encounter a small watering hole, beyond which the forest closes in again, interspersed with streams and rising springs (30’). From here, we ascend to a small pass offering the first glimpse of Lumiachas lake (1 hour; inclusive of photo ops and plant identification time.)

Next, we retrace our steps by the side of Caldarés river’s waterfalls (1:30 am) en route to the Casa de Piedra refuge. Here we reflect on what we’ve seen and observed, answer outstanding queries and take a leisurely stroll to the hot spring water and the lake to conclude our adventure!
