Sloths & Toucans too! - Alex and his driver were prompt to pick us up at our house. Alex was a very good conversationalist, telling us a little history of the country and area. Everyone involved in this excursion were warm and friendly and so knowledgeable about the plants, trees, animals. A perfect excursion, meeting all expectations. A definite “above value” for the price!

Great trip, lots of animals, could us more communication - The day was fantastic. We saw tons of wildlife and had a great time. The one thing I wished was communicated better was the timeline. The way it sounded to me on the website was that all the events would happen on the river but first you drive to the waterfall and get out and can swim. Then we got out and drove a bit to the nature preserve and saw lots of wildlife then you went back to the meeting place for lunch and then finally we went on a float trip down the river. Overall and great time and saw more than we expected to.

Great experience in Guanacaste - We had a great trip with Carlos. The trip down the river was just the right amount of time ( it was hot, hot, hot, so more than an hour would have been too much). The nature reserve was perfect and our guide was able to locate sloths, poisonous snakes, howler monkeys and toucans, and took fantastic pictures with our i-phones by positioning them against his binoculars, so our photos look like professional close-ups. Carlos was a charming guide and we had a fantastic day.

Phenomenal Outing, Wonderful Memories - We could not have asked for a better experience during a brief Costa Rica vacation. We experienced a variety of local environments and had encounters with virtually every form of wildlife we had hoped to see. Our guide Eithel was wonderful and the agency manager drove 90 minutes round-trip to deliver my wife’s glasses she had left in the van. Highly recommend this group and this day-long adventure.

Fun packed day with many different activities - We took the Private sloth encounter tour with Johnny and had a wonderful time. He was a great driver and easy to talk to. We enjoyed the Corobici water falls, and the Class I & II water raft tour where we saw crocodiles, howler monkeys, and many beautiful local birds. Then off to a delicious Costa Rican lunch before the tour at Finca Verde Lodge where we saw many sloths, indigenous plants and flowers, and the butterfly farm. It was lovely and so interesting. We definitely recommend this tour, Johnny as a tour guide and driver, and Guanacaste Dreams Vacations.

Personalized attention and great experience - Gabriel (Gabo) picked us up at our resort and drove us everywhere. Great conversation with him in the car. He is native from Playas del Coco and really pretty good with English as his second language. He's knows a lot about the area, history and ecology- so there was great discussion between segments of the trip. First was the waterfall- beautiful little tucked away spot. I could have spent the day there swimming and exploring, but we had to move on. Prepare to take a towel and dry off if you want to swim in the water, you don't have to of course. Next: The river float was gorgeous with lots of crocs (not gators like another reviewer said!!) birds, lizards, iguanas etc. Lunch was definitely authentic local fare, professionally served (waiters work at being good in their trade in Costa Rica) and tasty (but get the chicken, not the beef steak...). Later at the wildlife reserve, the sloths were plentiful, but most were high enough that anyone who brings binoculars is thinking ahead and will be rewarded! I wish my zoom was better on my camera. The attention to detail was amazing by our guide who saw walking sticks (I swear I could have put my hand on that thing and never suspected it was alive), green frogs, red frogs and lots of vegetation pointed out to us. Beautiful!! My biggest regret/misfortune is that my phone overheated on the river float and I didn't get any pics at the end of it or later. Fortunately, Gabriel got some and gave us his business care with his personal cell- he was willing to share that with us so we could get the pics, but I kept the card in my pocket and it didn't survive the hot tub later that day at the resort, so Gabriel- if you are out there, please use our email to send us the iguana pics and others :-)

Great experience! So much to do:) - Excellent day! Miller and Gabriel were fantastic tour guides. This was truly a private tour. Miller was very knowledgeable, Gabriel helpful and very nice! The river float was very peaceful and Miller along with the boatguide Brian made the tour both informative and enjoyable. We saw monkeys, birds, alligators (very small) Jesus lizards, as well as numerous species of plants...just to name a few...they got us up close..fabulous! Lunch off the river was authentic and fantastic. We then traveled a ways to the waterfall...beautiful and had time to enjoy the water and beautiful surroundings. We always had time to take pictures. The rainforest was next...it poured down rain, beautiful!! Be ready for some walking and bring a rain jacket. We got to see so many sloths up close, there were birds and beautiful tree frogs, the sounds of the rainforest were spectacular. Miller pointed out the numerous plants and animals and we stopped often to take pictures. At the end of of sloth encounter we were served coffee and hot coco. Be ready for a long day with so much to see. Some stairs and moderate climbs, but nothing difficult. Bring cash (small bills) you will want to tip some of the local guides that help with the tour. This tour is for nature lovers.

Great experience! So much to do:) - Miller and Gabriel were fantastic guides. Miller was so knowledgeable, Gabriel so nice! Be ready for a full day with a lot of adventure. The river float was relaxing. Miller and the boatsman, Brain went the extra mile to point out the different animal and plant species from monkeys, Iguanas, tropical birds, alligators( very small), Jesus lizards and of course all of the plant life..beautiful! Then we were served a great lunch (authentic). Miller and Gabriel helped all the way. Then off to a beautiful rainfall, time to swim if you want. Next stop, the rainforest...pouring rain..beautiful! We saw numerous sloths (up close), red and green frogs, just like in the picture and some coffee and hot coco to end the day Be ready for some walking and bring a rain jacket. Truly enjoyable if you love nature.

Private Tour - This was perfect for our family. We wanted my 80+ year old Mom to experience Costa Rica but she doesn;t get around as well. So the "special" attention and help she received from both our driver and tour guide was well worth it! This is a very easy tour and a good highlight tour. We were able to see several sloths and many water creatures on the raft, including a few crocs. I can't say enough about the tour guide and driver. I would definitely recommend either of them for private tours.
