Additional Information

After our collection from Flam, we travel through the quaint hamlet of Aurland, proceeding on one of Norway’s well-known 18 routes.

Our initial halt is at the Stegastein viewpoint, offering a memorable, broad and unobscured view of the Aurlandsfjord, recognized by UNESCO, from an elevated perspective.

Our picturesque path proceeds across the Snowy Road (Aurlandsfjellet), during this segment, you will find yourself within an untouched wild landscape, where snowcarpets the terrain most of the year.

In Lærdal, one can discover a delightful village comprising of over 150 homes that can trace their history back to the 1700s and 1800s.

Followed by the highlight, the Borgund Stave Church, an excellently preserved and distinct 800-year-old wooden stave church, that creates an ethereal experience upon entry.

As we journey back to Flam, the contrasting landscapes of the verdant Lærdal Valley and the world’s lengthiest road tunnel will capture your attention.

The tour’s duration splits almost equally between scenic drives and stopovers.

Half day coach trip from Flam. - Great guide, itinerary and so well organised. Helped by the magnificent weather. Local knowledge and smaller group size really make a difference and meant we on our own at otherwise busy stops, more flexibility and encountered a unique experience. Really friendly guides and driver who could not be more helpful. Highly recommended!

Great scenic views and knowledgeable commentary. - Mountain viewpoint, rushing rivers, stave church. Only slight complaint would be to be informed in advance that food stops would be available.

Flåm and surroundings from a different perspective - The tour with Sabrina was simply great - she made the tour varied, was always ready to answer questions or take a photo and after such a short time had a great deal of knowledge about the country and its people. As for the tour itself - the absolute highlight was the view from Stegastein. The stave church was also well worth seeing, as was Auland. All in all, I would recommend the tour to anyone who wants to see not only the fjords, but also the surrounding area.

Spetacular Landscape with awesome tour guide - We stop in Flam with our cruise ship, the tour was truly spectacular. We met our tour guide right near the ship, and starting early was ideal. We made our way straight to the Stegastein viewpoint, where we captured perfect photos without any other groups around. It was wonderful to admire the view without a crowd of people. Our tour guide, Nathalia, was not only friendly but also very knowledgeable, and the driver was a pleasant guy. This was a perfect tour for those with limited time.

Great excursion. Highly recommend! - Great tour seeing the Flam sites with Bas our Tour guide. Fully enjoyed the experience and all the beautiful sights we got to see. Bas was very nice, informative and had perfect English. He has lots of knowledge on Norway! I loved that they send you information on your destinations which included good background and history. Our tour took around 5h. this was the start of May so it was quiet regarding tourists.

Lovely Tour, Great Company - Great Tour. Very Informative. Stave church was truly remarkable! Bus ride back to port via the scenic route makes you appreciate the tunnel. Bus (and lots more traffic) came to a complete halt for about 40 minutes due to a car coming the opposite direction who did not know how to navigate the road to allow a bus to pass in the opposite direction. Tour guide made the most of it by sharing lots of history and insights into the Norwegian culture. Our bus driver was a consummate professional handling a very difficult situation.

Scenic Flam Tour - I took this tour when our cruise ship was in Flam for the day. I felt I would see more on this tour than on one or the ship's excursions or by taking the train. Our tour guide, Nathalia, was wonderful. Energetic, very knowledgeable, friendly. The tour showed us a lot of the countryside around Flam, both above and bleow the tree line. I saw spectacular views of the fjord at the viewpoint we stopped at. OUr tour of the Borgund stave church was fascinating and definitely worth seeing. We also drove through the longest tunnel in Norway and Nathalia told us about troll legends and played music by Norwegian composers. This tour required some walking but it was not strenuous.

Definitely a wonder - In theory for a day like today, rainy and cloudy, might have ruined the excursion. On the opposite, the mystery flavor is added to the excursion. The state church is a wonder by itself because of the history. In a rainy day like this, I even had the smell of pine wood when I was standing close to the tarred roof. The stop at the waterfall on the national mountain route is definitely a highlight of the excursion.Because of the fog, it is hard to see what is ahead in distance. The narrow path, muddy, stoney, lays among the tiny delicate white and yellow flowers decorating the fresh green mosses. It was like walking in a maze until the moment I heard the sound of water running.Suddenly in front of me I saw two streams of water pouring from the middle of grayish green mountain. Everything looked so misty, so unreal. Then there is a pure white patch of snow next to the waterfall. I realized I was walking on the edge of a lake. A lake with clear water, brownish red pebbles on the bottom near the edge. I looked back to where I had walked. Just fog, mist, mosses on the curve of the lake..During the drive of the entire excursion, there are happy singing creaks, colorful houses in red, white, yellow, blue, sheep wandering and nibbling grasses, clearly defined mountains with sharp angles, narrow wooden bridges crossing the creeks sparsely, mountains wrapped with semi transparent thin clouds.Although it is not a good day to be on the lookout platform, nature still has its wonder. Within a few seconds, the clouds disappeared, The picturesque village Aurland appeared down below. Just when everyone took out their cameras, the village disappeared in the mist, the fog… Just like a magic
