Additional Information

Take pleasure in this intimate electric bicycle tour of Auckland, New Zealand’s biggest city. From the convenience of your bike seat, you will witness the landmark views of Auckland city, besides exploring some of the local’s most-liked regions. This tour package also includes an electric bike rental, a local guide, and limits each tour to a maximum of 6 travellers.

  • For your enjoyment and safety, groups are small and personal, so a maximum of 6 riders per group, plus friendly guide
  • Minimum age 14 years old (teenagers of 14-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult).
  • Minimum rider height is 5 foot (152cm).
  • Adult pricing applies to all travelers.
  • Whilst experience riding an electric bike is not necessary (we’ll provide an orientation and we’ll do a test ride to make sure you’re comfortable before we head off), you must of course be able to ride a bike! If you haven’t ridden in a while, for your enjoyment/safety and that of your fellow riders, we strongly recommend you have a practice riding at home before your visit to Auckland. As well as riding on our wonderful cycleways, we will of course be riding in the road at times (to get to the good places!). Riding in traffic is a dynamic environment, so you will need to be comfortable riding in the road in order to enjoy the tour. And Auckland’s volcanic past means that there a quite few hills to go up and down - the eBikes make going up easy, but you’ll obviously need to be able to ride downhill! If you’d prefer a shorter, easier ride along Auckland’s beautiful waterfront - check out The Easy Rider, one of our other tour listings!

  • Free storage available for small bags at the city centre departure point.
  • The tours run rain or shine, you will be provided free use of a bright and comfortable rain jacket, if you need one.
  • Our electric bikes are designed with a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds (113 kg).
  • We recommend you bring sunscreen - the sun in NZ can be very harsh.
  • You may also wish to bring a bottle of water with you for the ride. You can store that in the bag on your bike. The is also a water fountain near our departure point - if you need to fill up your water bottle.

Awesome Aukland E-Bike Tour - An awesome tour!!!! A wonderful blend of exercise, sunshine, information and laughter. We really got to get our bearings in Aukland and Carson was down-to-earth, knowledgable and entertaining. It was our first time on an E-bike and we now want our own! Highly recommend. Best way to see Auckland - We had only 24 hours in Auckland; the bike tour was an excellent way to get a taste of this beautiful city. We covered a lot of ground! Carson made sure we rode safely and our route was mostly on bike paths and bike lanes. Having his commentary through the earpiece was a great addition. The e-bikes were super powerful and got us up the hills with relative ease. Highly recommend this tour!

Great experience! - Although it rained a lot during our tour, Eddie was very informative and made the trip fun. My husband and I liked that it was a small group (there were only 4 of us plus Eddie). He showed us around the city and the electric bikes were easy to use. I would definitely take this tour at the beginning of your Auckland stay as he provides some great recommendations during the tour and at the end.

Loved this guided e-bike tour! Superb start to finish. - Superb operation and guide! We are still raving about our guided Power to the Pedal e-bike tour with Eddie. It was a excellent way to get an orientation of Auckland before we joined a 21-day small group tour of both islands. Our guide, Eddie Jack (also owner) ran an excellent adventure from start to finish. He greeted us with a warm welcome, plan, and safety overview. Then he provided a good fitting and instructional test ride to make sure everyone was ready before venturing out. His e-bikes were in great shape and well suited for a mix of needs (i.e. a step-thru for me) and terrain that includes some inclines and starts and stops. He also provided easy-to-wear functional headsets so he could talk us through both points of interest (history/culture) as well as how to safely navigate intersections and inclines by utilizing features on the bikes that suited our abilities. We could hear him well throughout! His route and selected stops were well-timed and informative. He exposed us to much more of the city than we could have covered by foot (or discovered on our own) through an excellent blend of roads, mixed pedestrian pathways, and other bike-friendly urban routes. We explored a good bit of the waterfront and made our way through parks and neighborhoods to and from the high point for a 360 view. His attention to detail through the wrap-up included providing a few photos and a copy of the route – great for "journaling" the experience. We appreciated his inclusive and attentive demeanor, attention to safety, and his whole approach to the experience. This was a model excursion for any such guided tour.

A wonderful way to tour Auckland and we'd do it again! - Matt was our leader. The ebikes were so easy to get us up the hills in this hilly town - with just a touch of the thumb. We biked up to the top of Mount Eden - highest point in the city, around the waterfront and beautiful parks. Matt gave us each an earpiece so we could all hear his commentary as we biked along. History, the sailing culture, geology and volcanoes, sports, and dining options of course. And the bike saddles were comfortable! Not always the case on similar tours.
