Many wonderful artifacts in this museum. Go with a guide to get full understanding of it all. - This was a must do tour for us. Having a guide take us through all the artifacts in the museum gave us such a holistic view, ensuring no stone unearthed. The guide was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. Go see the museum before they close it for renovations. Well worth the time.

Invaluable private tour guide - Having a private tour guide made the museum close to life. Our guide, Vicki, had comprehensive knowledge of the historical periods of Greece and how the art and artifacts changed and evolved. Her insights were invaluable, making a large museum easier to explore in a meaningful way.

Guide Adapted Her Tour to Our Needs - Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. She clearly had a normal route through the main exhibits for foreign tourists, but when she discovered how much we already knew about Ancient Greece and that we had already been to Olympia, to Akrotiri in Santorini, to the Palace at Knossos, etc., she adapted her planned trip through the museum to show us what we wanted to see to fill in the gaps in our knowledge. She was wonderful.
