This is an all-day adventure.

On this excursion from Cluj, you’ll journey into the Apuseni Mountains in search of uncommon wildflowers, unique mushrooms, and native foliage, all while appreciating the untouched beauty of the surroundings. Our destination is the village of Posaga de Sus, nestled among the mountains. From there, our journey takes us on a mountain trek through a beech woodland to reach Scarita Peak, towering at 1384 meters, or 4541 feet. Due to the challenging nature and altitude of this hike, it is best suited for those with a moderate level of physical fitness. This tour is primarily designed for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and photography buffs.

Our day begins at 8 a.m with a pickup from wherever you are staying in Cluj-Napoca. Our trek kicks off at Posaga village, where we embark on a steep path through dense beech woodland, eventually coming upon an alpine environment with stunning views of the white, limestone cliffs. Along the way, we bypass some deserted wooden huts before climbing the ridge to reach the summit.

Throughout the hike, you’ll come across an array of wildflowers and mushrooms, which we will help identify. If time permits on our return journey, we’ll make a pit stop at the visually striking Sipote waterfall and wander through Dumesti village. As the day comes to a close, we will escort you back to your lodging in Cluj-Napoca.
