Adventure and Fun - Our trip started much early in the morning and first included a car trip to the forest itself. Our guide Shanaka came exactly on time and was prepared for the trip. Despite being a two to three hour journey, the car trip was smooth and passed quickly. The forest was a thing of beauty. The safari vehicle was ready for us. After passing the peacock, monkeys and the deer, we saw the sloth bear. Shanaka was over the moon with it. He had rarely seen the animal in his other trips and he was thrilled with starting the trip with the uncommon sight. The variety of birds right from the serpent eagle to the pigeons were beautiful. It was followed by the foxes, monitors moving on the land and much more. The guide and the driver both waited and let us observe, see and generally get a feel of the forest. By afternoon we had seen the leopard and the crocodiles and we were thoroughly thrilled. It was followed by a fulfilling lunch at Leopard Den, arranged by the guide himself. The trip back in the car was quiet, but it was filled with plenty of memories of what we had just seen and gleaned. Lovely experience.
