The river ravine, Glerárgil, is an undiscovered treasure of nature that cuts the city of Akureyri in half. We’ve managed to make this protected region approachable through a carefully planned trail and five ziplines, all in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum age is 8 years
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
- Weight limits: 30 - 120 kg (65 - 260 lbs) for safety reasons
- Sturdy shoes with good grip recommended
- Bring a hair tie for long hair
- Must be able to walk on uneven paths, at a moderate pace, for up to 10 minutes at a time

- Free local bus A5 or A6.
Other methods of travel time from center of town / port:
- 45 min. walking, uphill.
- Rental scooters, ca 20 min.
- Taxi, under 10 min.
- Hop on Hop off tour bus + 10 min walk = 30 min

Prettiest and most fun way to see Iceland! - Heading over 4 different zip lines with different, but all extremely beautiful views, was the highlight of our trip! The staff does a great job ensuring everyones safety and making the experience the best possible for everyone. This was one of our cruise stops and such a memorable way to spend the day in Akureyri. A simple and not too far of a walk from the port. A must do if you are planning a vis!

Don't Miss This Ziplining Adventure! - Excellent time ziplining thru beautiful scenery.! Well thought- out course of 5 ziplines guided by 2 friendly, informative guides John & Steph.Our group consisted of 11 particiants ages from 5 - 72...all of us had a great time!

Akureyri Zipline Adventure - I really loved and enjoyed the biplane excursion! The guides were very friendly, helpful, and informative! They made the entire experience awesome! I would go back again in a heartbeat! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Amazing. Exilerating. Fun - It was a truly amazing experience. Stephanie and the gentlemen who were the guides were so knowledgeable and kind. They both certainly knew their job and we felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend this. 10 min cab ride from cruise port.

Worth the ride. - Guides are great, funny, personable and make you feel very safe. Scenery is amazing, and zips are not so high or fast as to scare newbies. Great for the kids, families. Location is easily walkable from town or cruise port.
Shout out to Jonh, the only Habs fan in Akureyri.

Definitely a must do! - The guides were extremely informative and personable. The ziplines, 5 in total, were good lengths and the views were awesome. Must be able to walk on uneven, loose ground as the trail is still being constructed Highly recommended

White Water Zip Line - Far exceeded expectations. Not just a zip down a hill. A zip down a river. Most river zips are across the river. This one was more like across and down the river. Well thought out series of zips. And they teach you tricks.

Loved it - We loved this. Super easy instructions how to get there and our hosts were wonderful. This is five zip lines with some hiking and it was just so beautiful. Highly recommend.

Great experience. - We were lucky that no one else booked the tour except us, so it was basically a private tour. The guides were super nice, we had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the area. The ziplines were cool too. Highly recommended!
