Additional Information

Take a trip to Agueda and Aveiro to witness the spectacle of hundreds of suspended umbrellas and the charming ‘Little Venice’ (Aveiro), situated in the vicinity of Aveiro in Portugal. Revel in the dazzling festival where hundreds of umbrellas adorn the walks in the streets of Águeda. But there’s more to Agueda than just Bobbing umbrellas covering its main thoroughfares, it is a city to be discovered and delighted in all year round. Pay a visit to Pateira, one of the most significant lagoons on the Iberian Peninsula. Then, travel to Aveiro on the western coastline, a city brought to life by a lagoon named Ria de Aveiro. The city stands out for its waterways traversed by vibrant boats (moliceiro boats). Just a short distance from the center, renowned for its art nouveau structures, is the Aveiro Cathedral, with its striking bell tower. The Aveiro Museum, located in a previous convent, is home to an ostentatious tomb constructed from marble. This private tour also includes convenient and adaptable pick-up (8:00am)/drop-off (6:30pm) services from your accommodations, aided by a driver/guide. Should your travel plans bring you to Portugal in July, a visit to Águeda is a must!

Worth a visit...you will enjoy - The Umbrella festival was great. Vibrant colours and a wonderful vibe. This is a small festival - the REAL party is during June (I think) with Asian type characters dancing around too... much more crowded. We could have done a Wine Tour but declined due to time. Overall a great day. Thank you to Hugo - our guide and driver too.
