Spectacular Day Out! - Swimming in Cleopatra’s Pools, walking around the travertine terraces and immersing ourselves in the history of the Roman ruins. It was a really great day. It is a long trip there and back from Bodrum, but well worth it. I would have preferred not to have the two shopping shops as it added time to a long day, but I understand why it’s done and there’s no pressure to buy anything!

Worth visiting - Worth spending time travelling from Bodrum. It was stunning and amazing. Tour guide was knowledgeable but should have given us more history about the place. We stopped for lunch which was buffet and splendid.

A day out to remember! - The ancient scenery was breathtaking. We really enjoyed the terraces and the ruins of the temple and amphitheatre, truly remarkable and a fantastic memory to have. However, two unnecessary stops by the tour company trying to make money on the side. The lunch, however, was rushed … they certainly need to extend the time either at lunch or at Heirapolis/Pamukkale.

Great sights - The sights of Pamukkale are incredible, but they should be better preserved from us tourists. The place was overcrowded and some of the areas were dry. Cleopatra pools had so many people, it was quite impossible to enjoy them properly. There’s also an extra charge to enter the pools. 5 starts to the guide, Ali, he was knowledgeable and attentive. Transfer from and to the hotel were well-planned and on time.

To start with the tour... - To start with the tour details are wrong and the description said tour start from 9:00AM -7:00 PM. We were not told that till late night before that it will start at 6:00 AM which is fine because it’s 3 hour trip but the tour company stopped at a jewlery store to sell us stone and wasted 45-1 hour of our time. Second the tour company was very rude when I contacted them via what’s app to confirm my reservation and did not answer my questions . The guide Ali is a nice guy but did not give us enough info specifically when we arrived and promoted cleopatra pool which was a disaster and encouraged us to go there first and we wasted time there and it’s not worth it . We then went to the hot springs and did not have enough time to enjoy it. He did not check on us and we met him at the end . You can tell he is not very interested and looks like he is tired of his job. We stopped for lunch which was terrible. The tour guide said lunch is 4 buffets includes kabab and the food was worst food I ever ate in Turkey. only chicken no kabab rice and fries was terrible. Most of could not finish lunch . Then again we stopped by leather factory and waited another 30 minutes. All guides enjoyed tea during our visit. I think Viator needs to put more details and pick better tour companies . I am not happy with this tour as it was not focused on the hot spring and the ruins. They brushed over the site seeing and focused more on marketing leather and jewelry for commission

Wasted alot of time on the day - A good price but they said we would get over 4 hours at the location on the booking but only got about 2.45 and they took us to 2 seperate shops for over 1 hour 45 in total on the journey trying to sell things on the way, one of them was even a leather jacket store where the items were over 1000 euros, if they didn't make us go to these shops we could have spent more time at pamukkale which was what we were there for in the first place, considering the travel was over 3 hours to get there we thought they would have given us more time, pamukkale however was beautiful and worth seeing, we spent 20 euros to go into the cleopatra pools but didn't think it was worth it as the hot springs were free and much more vast and beautiful, overall not as happy with the service as expected.

Would have been better to take a taxi and back - The tour starts at 6am and ends at 9-10pm so be prepared for a long trip. Even though I had given my address a week in advance the tour still contacted me a day before to confirm my residence through WhatsApp so if you don't have Internet when you're out and about you might miss some valuable information. The tour bus arrived 15 mins late which is the least of the days problems. I found the leather and stone shops to be an utter waste of time. Maybe just pit stops for the driver to take a break. Who would want a leather jacket while visiting an ancient site in July?! The lunch felt like a herd of sheep led into a warehouse. There was no atmosphere and the food wasn't special. I've spent two weeks in Turkey and where ever I've been the food was delicious except for this one. Finally I felt the history of Hierapolis was lacking. The guide had a few tips on the amphitheatre but that was it. The majority of the info was mainly focused on directions and swimming in cleopatra's pool. A more thorough "expert guide" would have explained more about the ancient buildings that littered the site. The English was very poor. "yes, it was better than my Turkish" some people couldn't understand as it was not clear and concise. It's a shame because Pamukkale is wonderful and it needed more guidance and explanation of its history about all the other buildings in the site. The whole bus felt disappointed and didn't feel a personal connection with any part of the tour. I've taken a lot of tours and I can say this was quantity over quality.

12 hours of road for less than 2 hours on site. - I don't usually post reviews but this was the most awful excursion I've ever had. 12hours of transport for less than 2 hours at pamukkale. I strongly recommend to avoid this excursion because the stopped 4 times to make us buy different type of stuff (we had a leather jackets défilé for 1h????) The food buffet was really poor and the pause stations were super expensive. Arriving at pamukkale, our guide literally ran and gave us 0 information about the site nor the indications to get around. Our guide literally disappeared mid visit to show up late at the bus for departure. Our visit lasted less than 2hours (12:00 to 14:00 on bus) and we didn't have enough time to discover this wonderful site. If you want to enjoy pamukkale, I think the best you can do is to book a hotel and stay the night / come to visit early in the morning for a cooler weather and less crowds, especially if you want to enjoy cleoparta's pool.
