“Park” doesn’t begin to explain all that Balboa Park has to offer. Home to a variety of museums, gardens, walking paths, cultural centers, iconic Spanish-Baroque architecture, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the attraction receives more than 12 million visitors annually. Sniff your way through glorious gardens of roses and California native plants. Bring the kids for a ride on the carousel and miniature railroad. Glimpse more than 3,700 animals, most in open-air pens, at the spectacular Zoo. Picnic on the grass and enjoy the sunny weather San Diego is famous for. Exploring this park is the perfect way to spend a day.
This is a lovely park. We had so many other things we wanted to do that we only got to see Balboa Park at night. It was quiet and beautiful. There were several museums to choose from. We enjoyed walking the grounds a bit since everything was closed. This will be on our list whenever we return!
