Everything you’ve heard is true—San Diego has some of the best beaches in the country. From sandy coves to rocky cliffs, and everything in between, you can find your perfect beach terrain within San Diego’s 70 miles of coastline. Consistently ranked as one of America’s best beaches, Coronado is sure to please—its soft sand literally sparkles thanks to mica particles that catch the sun. Sunseekers surf, swim, sunbathe, and sail at Silver Strand State Beach, which fronts both San Diego Bay and the Pacific. Feel the vintage carnival vibe at Mission Beach, and ride Belmont Park’s roller coasters and bumper cars. Stroll the boardwalk or bike through the streets of Pacific Beach, the iconic California town of your imagination. Active beachgoers head out for a run at La Jolla Shores or surf session at Black’s Beach, a favorite among locals.
Rides and a beach? The kids were in heaven at Mission Beach. Fun little stores to do some souvenir shopping and then the beach straight ahead. There are plenty of restaurants to keep you hydrated and fed. A fun surprise for us; we didn't think we would go here but were pleasantly surprised.
