About Muir Woods, Sausalito and City Tour
Take a rare opportunity to walk among 1,000-year-old coastal redwood trees on this Muir Woods Tour. Just a short bridge span away, you’ll find 550 acres of the tallest species of trees on earth. Learn about their ancestors, which once spanned the nation, and why (thanks to John Muir) you’re able to visit some of the last survivors. If you opt for a Saturday or Sunday tour, stop at the German Tourist Club in the middle of the woods, where you can rest up after your hike with a stein of beer among the scenery. If you want to make a day out of your visit to Marin County, consider tacking on a trip to Sausalito to your adventure.
I took the morning Muir Woods Expedition tour with Jerry. The trip was FANTASTIC from start to finish. The van was very comfortable and so much nicer than having to ride in a big bus….Jerry was a wealth of information the entire time, pointing out highlights and history to me…His knowledge and pleasant personality greatly enhanced the experience. I would go again in a heartbeat!
