About Chinatown Ghost Tour
When the streets get dark in Chinatown, locals claim that they can see the spirits. Follow along by lamplight on a journey through the neighborhood passageways where these lively ghosts are said to bide their time. Tours are guided by a fourth-generation San Franciscan, who grew up in Chinatown and is full of stories and folklore. Learn about the reverence still offered to the Goddess Kwan Yin and the hungry spirits, and visit a former gambling den where a magician will conjure up the spirit of a gambler who met his demise when he was caught cheating. It’s the sort of tour you can’t really do anywhere but San Francisco, and it’s great fun to experience ancient Chinese mythology and folklore by night.
All in all it was a fun experience and I would recommend it. Our hostess and guide, Cynthia, is wonderful at what she does. She is articulate, knowledgeable and has the pleasing personality of a good guide.
