Bhutan has both natural beauty and cultural wealth so carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation, that visitors are not surprised to hear its nickname ‘Kingdom of Happiness’.

Tucked away deep in the eastern Himalayas between the mighty neighbours

  • China to the north and India to the south, Bhutan remained isolated for centuries from the rest of the world until it opened its door to the outside world in the 1960s. Bhutan is one of the most beautiful and least travelled countries in the world and the last Vajrayana Buddhist Kingdom.
  • This tour can be customized and run on a private basis just for you and your group.
  • We highly recommend booking at least a few months before the departure date so that we have enough time to ensure the flights are available. If you already have flight tickets to and from Bhutan, we can take bookings up to a week before the departure date. To process visa, it only takes 4-5 business days.
  • There are only two airlines that connect Bhutan with the outside world and so securing air tickets can be difficult especially during the months of high season. Currently, Bhutan is connected with these cities - Bagdogra, Bangkok, Delhi, Dhaka, Guwahati, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Singapore. We recommend you book your international flights a few months in advance especially if you plan to visit during the high season months of March to May and September to November. If you need help in arranging flights to/from Bhutan, please let us know much in advance.
  • After you book the tour, kindly send us clear passports copies of all the participants. A biodata page including the machine-readable zone must be seen clearly. Passports should have a minimum of 6 MONTHS validity from the day you depart from Bhutan. You may also want to check the passport requirements by your next destination country after Bhutan. A copy of your e-Visa will be emailed to you once it is approved. It only takes 4-5 business days to get visa approval and it is 100 percent guaranteed as long as we receive clear passport copies of all the participants. The actual visa will be stamped on your passport upon arrival. Send the passport copies to the Local Supplier E-mail address.
  • Youth between the ages of 13-18 MUST send us a copy of their valid Student Photo ID Card/Document to keep the discounted price. Without a copy of valid Student Photo ID Card/document, the full adult price will apply.
  • Participants below the age of 18 years old MUST be accompanied by at least one full-paying adult.

Dreamland - Explored Bhutan on a delightful 6-day tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel in October 2023. Bhutan, an enchanting and tranquil country, feels like a world of its own, surrounded by a profound spiritual ambiance. The warm locals contribute to its inviting atmosphere. The pre-trip communication was seamless, swiftly arranging flights and visas. Received valuable pre-departure tips, such as securing a window seat for a Himalayan view during the flight. In Bhutan, my guide Tshiring and driver Tashi were well-informed, adjusting the itinerary based on my interests and energy levels, making the journey enjoyable and effortless. Bhutan Acorn's accommodations were cozy, including a night in a farmhouse for an immersive cultural experience. Highly recommend embarking on an authentic Bhutanese journey with them, going beyond typical tours.

Magical tour in a magical country. - This was an excellent tour in everyway. Truly the trip of a lifetime. Most notably, in my case, I contacted Bhutan Acorn on a wednesday and they had a full tour booked and arranged for me for arrival on Saturday. My plans were completely last minute, as I was in Bangladesh prior. After booking, I didn't have to plan a single thing. I was met at the airport, and all accommodations and meals were taken care of. The private mini-suv was new, clean, and reliable. Accommodations were top notch and all the buffet meals were very tasty! Mr Tashi is an excellent and knowledgeable guide, who passionately shared the rich history of the sites we visited. He even made it a point to snap several photos from our trip. He had answers to all my questions. and, he's just an all around cool guy to spend the day with!

Incredible Bhutan Experience! - A friend and I toured Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel through the 7D/6N Hidden Kingdom of Bhutan experience. We did the tour over the Christmas holidays from 30th of December to 05 January. Karma was very responsive when setting up the tour in the months prior and communications regarding our itinerary and visa were very clear and efficient. Predeparture information was also provided which was useful for our route via Delhi. Upon arrival, we met with Tashi Dorji who was our guide for the week and who truly made it a memorable trip. His knowledge on the rich cultural, religious and natural heritage throughout each region was excellent, where the very interesting stories of ancient legends were portrayed wonderfully with colorful stories at different temples and sites that we visited. Tashi also educated us widely on the social, environment and economic values of Bhutan. All of our lodges were very comfortable and the local cuisine was great, with a wide variety of tasty dishes during each meal. We highly recommend doing a homestay, if the option is available on your tour package also. This gave us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a peaceful traditional stay in a highland Bhutanese home. If hiking is your thing, this is the place to be. All the trails were brilliant, though the Tigers Nest trek stands out as being one of the most incredible hikes I have ever done. I would highly recommend traveling to Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel! Thank you Tashi and Karma for a great advernture.

Lovely country, expert tour company - Traveled Bhutan on 6 D/5N tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel in Nov 2022. Bhutan is a lovely country, very spiritual and tranquil, a world of its own. Its people are friendly and welcoming. Communication before the trip was excellent with flights and visa arranged promptly. Valuable pre departure information was provided including how to secure a window seat to view the Himalaya mountains during flight! In Bhutan Ms Lhamo was my guide and she expertly shared her knowledge and insights about her country on a wide range of subjects from birds to historical folklore and the local deities. The itinerary was reviewed often and adjusted based on my interests and energy level. The lodging provided by Bhutan Acorn was quite comfortable. I stayed one night in a farmhouse and appreciated experiencing first-hand the local culture. I would highly recommend traveling with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel. They care about sharing the true essence of Bhutan with travelers, not just being a tour operator.

Incredible and Unique Trip! - I visited Bhutan with my family in early October and from start to finish were under excellent care. Our guide Tashi was knowledgeable and accommodating, working with us each day to ensure we could see as much as possible while also making time for the little stops as well. Recognizing early on our interest in the local wildlife, on the many hikes he led us on he would be sure to point out and help us identify different species of birds that we saw. Tashi also was knowledgeable on the many temples we visited, where the locals will make you feel right at home as you visit these amazing structures even in the middle of rituals. While the entire trip was a highlight, the hike to Tiger’s Nest stands out as a truly incredible experience and what we’ll remember most. Be sure to also try much of the local food as well and embrace the use of chilis in much of the cuisine!

Great Bhutan Experience and Great Tour Company - If you ever have the opportunity to visit Bhutan, do not hesitate to go. Bhutan is a fascinating and visually stunning country, filled with friendly and welcoming people that personalize its history and culture. My family and I were fortunate to have been able to begin our exploration of Bhutan just days after the country re-opened its tourism industry. As wonderful as our guide and driver and trekking and sightseeing experiences were during our 6 days of exploring the highlights of Bhutan, equally wonderful was our experience with the tour company that had made it all possible, Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel. In all our many years of travel , we had never found a tour company so responsive, so engaged, so dedicated, and so determined to make this tour possible. Over a period of time spanning almost one year, through all the stops and starts and changes that were happening leading up to the re-opening of Bhutan, the owner, Mr. Karma Sangay Phuntsho , successfully navigated us through it all and kept us continually informed. We are forever indebted to him and his tireless efforts to ensure that our family would always share the wonderful memories and highlights of an unforgettable journey through Bhutan.
