Additional Information

Join us as we explore the most sought-after and unparalleled sights of Iceland’s South Coast, including the globe’s most unique natural spectacle: a sapphire-hued ice cave, accessible through a trek on Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. During this two-day journey, we’ll be taking you to the attractions that place Iceland at the pinnacle of travel destinations: commanding waterfalls, ebony-hued sand beaches, the unique Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, and a pursuit of the grand Northern Lights.

  • Order or availability of attractions may change due to road or weather conditions.
  • The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed by the operator. The hotels are in prime locations to maximize chances of seeing them.
  • The limit is 24″ suitcase per person, and no multiple luggage allowed. If there is limited space in the car you might need to leave part of your luggage in our luggage storage, free of charge.
  • Please contact us regarding pick up. There are some hotels where buses are not allowed to drive. You can find information about designated pick up locations at busstop.is or ask the front desk of your hotel. Pick up from Keflavík airport or outside of the greater capital area is not available.
  • We recommend you bring hiking boots with slip-resistant soles if you are visiting in the winter. Hiking boots are available at the time of booking.
  • Ice caves are a dynamic natural phenomena only accessible during wintertime when temperatures drop. Each year new unique caves are formed in different areas of the glacier. We visit a naturally formed ice cave during this tour. The photos are from this winter season, but the cave and other formations we visit might have changed due to the nature of formations.

An amazing tour with passionate guides - Our driver/guide Thora was wonderful and super insightful! We learnt so many fascinating facts about Iceland! There were a huge number of places to visit but never felt rushed. Thora did a great job and she was incredibly kind and interested with her tour! Philip was our guide for the glacier hike and was super patient. He was also a great source of facts and helpful when putting on our equipment. We made many memorable moments during this tour, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.

Packs a ton into 2 days - Excellent 2 day tour with Haldor. Troll adjusted the itinerary so we would have the best weather for the various activities, which meant glacier hike on day 1 and the waterfalls and beaches on day 2. Haldor shared lots of Icelandic information, folklore, songs, etc. He made the drive pass quickly. The glacier hike and ice caves were impressive and really gave us an understanding of global warming. The glacier lagoon and diamond beach were otherworldly - getting there early in the morning was a treat with bright sun and very few people. The overnight guesthouse was simple and comfortable. Highly recommend this tour.

Good good good. - Good good good. Everything is good, especially the guide Alex! He is patient, friendly, warm heart , and introduced everything for us. Although the weather is not very nice at the second day of our journey. But we also got a really good memory!

The two-day trip is compact and fulfilling, highly recommended to travelers who want to go to Iceland without driving by themselves. - The whole trip was very smooth, Iskren's explanations were very detailed and clear, and there was enough time to explore each attraction. The weather was so nice the next day that Iskren packed in more private spots on the way back. Well worth the price and our favorite of our trip to Iceland. Recommended Tröll Expeditions, small group travel, Mini Bus is very comfortable.

Worth it - Good coverage of activities in 2 days if you don't have much time in Iceland. The stay was comfortable as well. Beautiful sceneries. The guide was kind enough to make additional stops along the way since we had some time on our hands.

A disappointing Trip - BEWARE, this company outsource their tours as I found out to my detriment. We were picked up by a non-branded vehicle and a freelance driver Troll brought in the night before, who had never undertaken the 2-day south coast tour before (confirmed by driver). As a result, we got limited info, zero commentary, a constantly changing itinerary and quick stops at the designated stops. The driver also took multiple calls on his mobile (non-hands free, which unnerved us). Before arriving at an ‘alternate’ guest house at 8pm on the first night, we were informed that there was no option of an evening meal (only soup), therefore we had to stop at a petrol station to buy cold snacks. The following day we then had a ‘pit-stop’ tour on the way back to Reykjavik only stopping at some attractions for 45mins, but we stopped to buy hot dogs and ice-cream at an industrial estate instead of staying longer at the advertised attractions, baffling???? Consequently, we arrived back 4 HOURS before the advertised time. We saw actual Troll tours at the stops and if you’re lucky enough to get one of these I’m sure they deliver as advertised, but if it’s outsourced then good luck!!!! Tried to reason with Troll but they keep referencing that they reserve the right to change the itinerary due to bad weather. The weather was STUNNING on our trip. Please be aware that we booked well in advance, but we believe that Troll continues to take bookings, even though their own tour buses are full and then outsource the unlucky travellers.
